Victoria LPG Rebate – Non-Mains Energy Concession

Who may be eligible

Valid Victoria concession cardholders who:

Concession card holders who rely on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for domestic heating, cooking and hot water can apply for a concession to help cover their yearly LPG energy costs.

LPG Rebate Amount

Two 45kg LPG gas bottlesThe amount of the LPG rebate depends on the annual cost of each non-mains energy source, including LPG.

The LPG rebate amounts for the 2025 calendar year are:

  • $57 for spending from $100 to $334.99
  • $176 for spending from $335 to $1006.99
  • $293 for spending from $1007 to $1674.99
  • $418 for spending from $1675 to $2390.99
  • $535 for spending from $2391 to $3058.99
  • $650 for spending $3059 and above.

Invoices for LPG gas, rental charges for LPG gas bottles, service charges and delivery fees are counted towards your rebate.

LPG rebate applications for each year close on 31 December of the following year.

Example: LPG rebates for 2025 LPG invoices must be submitted by 31 December 2026

Energy Type

Non-mains energy, including LPG.

All non-mains energy costs are covered from 1 January to 31 December each year.

Valid Concession Cards for LPG Rebate

  • Pensioner Concession Card (PCC or DVA)
  • Health Care Card (HCC)
  • Valid Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card (DVA)
    • DVA Gold Card Dependent is not valid for this concession

How will my concession be paid?

LPG rebate concessions are paid into the qualifying applicant’s bank account.

Who can I contact about my claim?

If you applied for your LPG rebate via the concession portal, you can view the status of your claim at any time.

Individual claimants who are experiencing hardship while waiting for their claim to be assessed can contact the department’s claim team to request prioritisation on 1800 658 521.
